Maple Pears on Walnut-Crunch
Crispy Walnut Maple Syrup Pear Dessert
Serving: 4 People
Ingredients
- For the pears:
- 2 pears
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- Juice of ½ lemon
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- For the vanilla cream:
- 1 vanilla pod or ½ teaspoon vanilla paste
- 500 g yoghurt or vegan alternative
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- For the walnut crunch:
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 80 g California walnuts
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 30 g rolled oats
- Salt
- Optional:
- More maple syrup as a topping
Preparations
- Wash, halve, and core the pears and place them in a baking dish.
- Drizzle with maple syrup, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 20–25 minutes, until soft and slightly caramelized.
- For the vanilla cream, cut open the vanilla pod, scrape out the seeds, and add them to a bowl with yoghurt and cinnamon.
- Mix well and chill in the refrigerator.
- For the walnut crunch, heat the coconut oil in a saucepan.
- Add the walnuts and roast until lightly toasted.
- Add maple syrup and mix well, then add rolled oats and salt.
- Toast until golden brown, remove from heat, and allow to cool.
- Spread the vanilla cream on plates, place the pear halves on top, and sprinkle generously with walnut crunch.
- Serve immediately.
